Over the last 8 weeks, I have had the honor of joining the Digital Photogrammetry Research Group under the guidance of Ayman Habib and Sungwoong Hyung.
The group is currently developing a program focused on automatically semantically segmenting points within a point cloud, with the goal of improving the efficiency and accuracy of point cloud analysis and classification workflows.
As part of the research team, I have contributed by acquiring field data and generating point clouds, hand-segmenting reference datasets for validation purposes, and preparing both quantitative and qualitative reports evaluating the performance of the segmentation results.
This experience has provided valuable exposure to photogrammetry, LiDAR and point cloud processing, machine learning applications, and research methodology. I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such knowledgeable researchers and contribute to an exciting and impactful project.
